Product Description

The effect of a surfactant as an emulsifier is based on the fact that it reduces the inter-facial tension between phases which do not mix easily . As surfactants need a certain time to do this, the effect of an emulsifier depends on the mixing dynamics. With DVT 50, you can measure the speed with which emulsifiers produce their effect and reduce the inter-facial tension. 

Whether pumping, stirring or flooding: oil-water interfaces are always in motion. The drop volume technique of the DVT 50 from KRUSS records the inter-facial tension under dynamic conditions in an interface age range from fractions of a second up to several minutes.

Measurement of dynamic inter-facial tension between two liquids can be done with free assignment of drop phase & bulk phase using DVT50.
